Everton Nearing Double Deal Completion as Lewis Dobbin Exit Advances – Fabrizio Romano

Aston Villa are progressing in their efforts to sign Lewis Dobbin from Everton, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist announced on X on Friday (21 June) that Dobbin is nearing a move to Villa Park.

Although this isn’t an official swap deal, it essentially resembles one, with each club exchanging a young player for another. Only time will reveal which club benefits more from these transactions.

Dobbin, 21, is a year older than Iroegbunam, 20. The striker has struggled to establish himself at Goodison Park and will likely welcome the opportunity to join Villa, where he could feature in the UEFA Champions League.

On the other hand, Iroegbunam has shown potential but has had limited chances to prove himself under Unai Emery. Thus, a move to Everton represents a promising opportunity for the midfielder.

The ultimate winners of this deal will be the club whose young player fully realizes their potential.

Additionally, Everton have secured the signing of Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam for a fee of around £9 million.

Both transfers are now set to be finalized.
