Everton Set to Confirm Fourth Summer Signing with Bayern Defender Adam Aznou
David Moyes’ Everton side are set to face West Ham United at Soldier Field on 30 July in their second fixture of the Premier League Summer Series.
Meanwhile, the club is closing in on the signing of Bayern Munich youngster Adam Aznou, having agreed a deal worth £7.8 million with the German champions.
The 19-year-old left-back is expected to undergo a medical soon, and Everton remain hopeful that their plans for him will come to fruition.
Everton Hoping to Finalise Aznou Deal in Time for U.S. Tour
According to the Liverpool Echo (28 July), Aznou could join the Everton squad at their training base in Atlanta, where they are preparing for the final leg of their U.S. tour.
The deal is said to be in the “final stages” following positive negotiations with Bayern Munich.
If the transfer is completed as expected, Aznou will become Moyes’ fourth signing of the summer.
The Moroccan international could feature in the remainder of the Summer Series and is seen as a long-term option for the left-back role.
Moyes Seeking Further Reinforcements
Despite nearing the Aznou deal, Moyes is pushing for more signings before the transfer window closes.
Following Everton’s 2–0 defeat to Bournemouth on 26 July at the MetLife Stadium, the manager reportedly urged the club’s new owners, The Friedkin Group (TFG), to strengthen the squad further.
A lack of senior options has forced Moyes to include several youth players in the pre-season tour.
So far, Everton have made Carlos Alcaraz’s loan from Flamengo permanent and signed Thierno Barry from Villarreal to bolster their attacking depth.
Aznou is expected to take Ashley Young’s place in the squad and could provide backup to Vitalii Mykolenko in the upcoming season.
However, with gaps still evident across multiple positions, the Moroccan teenager cannot be the club’s final addition this summer.
Everton must continue reinforcing the squad to be competitive heading into the new campaign.
