Everton pursue midfielder transfer deal – report
Everton target Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo in winter transfer window, reports Corriere dello Sport.

The Toffees remain keen to sign Brazilian midfielder Arthur to bolster David Moyes’ midfield, as reported in the print edition of the newspaper (21 January, pg 2).
Juventus is expected to allow the 28-year-old to explore other options.
Arthur, who has not played since returning from a loan spell at Fiorentina last season, has been linked with a move to Goodison Park well before Moyes’ arrival.
Everton, under the new ownership of The Friedkin Group, remains determined to finalize deals before the transfer window closes.
However, convincing players—particularly loan targets—to join a Premier League relegation battle remains challenging, especially when they might receive more attractive offers elsewhere in Europe.

Players like Arthur, who have struggled with injuries and limited appearances this season, may find mutual benefit in a move to Everton.
A potential hurdle is Arthur’s apparent reluctance to join Everton due to his ties to Liverpool, where he made just one appearance during a loan spell in 2022-23.
Despite this, Everton continues to explore the market for opportunities, hoping Arthur might still make the switch to Merseyside.
If successful, the move could strengthen Moyes’ side and provide a fresh start for Arthur, offering him a chance to regain form and contribute to the fight for Premier League survival alongside the Goodison faithful.
