Everton have welcomed two new arrivals so far this summer as David Moyes begins shaping his squad for the 2025/26 campaign.

Thierno Barry has joined to boost the attacking options, while goalkeeper Mark Travers has been brought in to provide competition between the posts.

Additionally, Carlos Alcaraz has made his move permanent after impressing on loan last season.

Despite these additions, the squad still feels short of depth, especially after a number of player departures.

As such, Everton fans are calling for more reinforcements in the transfer market, and Moyes appears to be responding.

A right winger is understood to be his current priority, with Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo emerging as a prominent target in recent days.

However, Everton could also look to strengthen the opposite flank. Reports from Spain suggest Moyes is keeping tabs on Atletico Madrid winger Samuel Lino as a possible addition to the squad.

Last season, Everton’s wide options were inconsistent. While Iliman Ndiaye enjoyed a standout debut campaign and is expected to play a key role again this term, the same cannot be said for Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom.

Both returned to their parent clubs—Leeds United and Napoli respectively—after underwhelming loan spells.

Moyes may now be considering shifting Ndiaye into a more central role, opening up a potential spot on the left wing. That’s where Samuel Lino comes into the picture.

According to AS, the Brazilian could be on the move this summer, with Atletico Madrid reportedly open to offers.

Lino, who joined the La Liga side in 2022, has made 93 appearances for Diego Simeone’s team, but no longer appears to be in the manager’s plans.

With two years left on his current deal, and being out of favour, Lino could be available at a reasonable price. His arrival at Goodison Park would offer not just depth but also tactical flexibility.

Comfortable operating as a traditional winger or a left wing-back, he could be well-suited to Moyes’ occasional use of a back three, particularly when Jake O’Brien shifts inside to join James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite.

What makes Lino particularly intriguing is his playing style. A 2023 report from Breaking The Lines described him as “a very dangerous player with the ball at his feet,” capable of weaving through defenders and creating chances with relentless dribbling.

His pace, agility, and direct approach make him a nightmare for defenders, constantly forcing goalkeepers into action.

For Everton, adding such an unpredictable and dynamic attacker could provide a major boost alongside new striker Barry, with Ndiaye and Dwight McNeil also benefitting from Lino’s attacking threat.
