Everton intensify search for attacking reinforcements as Moyes deals with key injury setbacks.
According to Tuttosport, Everton are set to back David Moyes with funds in the January transfer window, allowing him to sign at least two attacking players.
The Toffees are reportedly providing Moyes with around £33.5 million to strengthen the forward line.
Additional funds could be raised if Beto is sold to Torino in the coming days.
Everton have shown interest in Rangers striker Hamza Igamane but are also exploring other options.
Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi has now emerged as a potential target.
Earlier this month, Jack Rosser reported that West Ham had considered a loan move for Awoniyi, with a view to a permanent transfer.
However, Everton now seem to be making a serious push for the Forest striker.
A Crucial Week for Everton
The next six days are vital for Everton, as Moyes urgently needs reinforcements. The club’s striker situation is becoming increasingly problematic.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin appeared to have rediscovered his form under Moyes but suffered an untimely injury and could be sidelined for a while.
Meanwhile, Armando Broja’s loan spell has been disastrous, compounded by his own injury issues. Everton should consider negotiating his return to Chelsea and securing a replacement.
Youssef Chermiti is also currently out injured, leaving Beto as the club’s only fit striker. If Everton do sign a new forward, Tuttosport suggests Beto will likely depart for Torino.
Awoniyi has struggled for regular starts at Nottingham Forest this season. He has only started twice in the Premier League, with 16 substitute appearances.
The 10-cap Nigeria international may be open to leaving the City Ground, and if Everton present an offer, he could be tempted to play under Moyes at Goodison Park.
