Everton are reportedly interested in signing Lyon forward Georges Mikautadze during the January transfer window, according to FootMercato.
However, the Georgian striker is not keen on leaving his current club.
Mikautadze, who joined Lyon last summer, has scored four goals in 15 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
Despite starting only five games, he has provided valuable competition for the aging Alexandre Lacazette.
This limited role has attracted interest from several clubs that believe they can offer him more prominent opportunities.
West Ham are among the clubs reportedly interested in Mikautadze, along with Galatasaray, Roma, and Juventus.
Now, Everton have emerged as potential suitors, with manager Sean Dyche seeking reinforcements for his struggling attack.
The injury-prone Dominic Calvert-Lewin has failed to deliver consistent performances, prompting Everton to explore other options.
Mikautadze began his career at Metz and moved to Ajax in 2023 following an impressive Ligue 1 campaign.
However, after an underwhelming stint in Amsterdam, he returned to Metz on loan in January.
During this spell, he scored 14 goals in 22 matches, prompting Metz to activate a €10 million buy-back clause.
Following his standout performances at Euro 2024, Mikautadze joined Lyon, where he has yet to establish himself as their first-choice striker.
Despite Everton’s interest, FootMercato reports that Mikautadze is unwilling to leave Lyon, and the French club has no intention of selling him.
However, Lyon’s financial struggles and strong demand for the player could lead to a transfer if a significant offer is made.
Everton are in dire need of attacking reinforcements, having scored just 15 goals in their first 17 Premier League matches—a tally bettered only by Southampton.
The club’s new ownership, along with Dyche, is eager to address these issues by signing a new striker.
Current options such as Beto have yet to impress, while Fiorentina is reportedly considering a January move for Calvert-Lewin.
