Everton submit £6.8m bid with bonuses for latest transfer target – report

The Italian newspaper reported on 3 August (page 13) that Serie A side Verona are holding out for at least £8.5million upfront for Jackson Tchatchoua, whose contract runs until 2027.

It is understood that Verona will stand firm on their demands for the 22-year-old right-back, with several clubs interested in his signature this summer.

With Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson, and Ashley Young as the current right-back options, Sean Dyche appears to be targeting a new transfer in that position.

Full-back on both flanks was often a problem for the Toffees last season, with Mason Holgate occasionally filling in due to circumstances at Goodison Park.

Tchatchoua seems to be an ideal signing this summer. The 22-year-old has impressed during his time in Serie A with Verona and has earned a chance with Cameroon at the international level.

He has won two caps for his national team so far, earning a call-up to the squad in May and being thrown straight into the starting XI.

Given the Toffees’ current issues at right-back, with both Coleman and Young nearing the ends of their careers, a young, exciting full-back for under £10million is a decent option this summer.

Many fans were concerned by the club’s financial situation after Dan Friedkin’s takeover attempt collapsed earlier this summer, but Dyche and Kevin Thelwell’s transfer plans have continued without a hitch.

While several players have been linked with moves away, the signings of Tim Iroegbunam, Iliman Ndiaye, Jesper Lindstrom, and Jake O’Brien have added a lot of positivity at Goodison Park.

Tchatchoua could be the next big addition for the Toffees this summer.
