Everton’s Line-Up for AS Roma Clash Confirmed with Seven Players Absent for Final Goodison Friendly

Sean Dyche has announced Everton’s starting line-up for their final pre-season friendly at Goodison Park against AS Roma.
Jake O’Brien, recently signed from Lyon, will start. Fans will also see Tim Iroegbunam, who joined from Aston Villa earlier in the transfer window, in action for the first time.
Dyche is testing his latest No.10 following last weekend’s 3-0 victory at Preston. Abdoulaye Doucoure returns to the line-up, while Napoli loanee Jesper Lindstrom is on the bench. This match also marks goalkeeper Jordan Pickford’s first appearance of the summer, as he returns from his post-Euro 2024 holiday after helping England reach the final.
Everton continues to struggle with injuries, with six players sidelined. Jarrad Branthwaite is still recovering from minor groin surgery, and fellow center-back Michael Keane is now also out, along with James Garner. Nathan Patterson and Stanley Mills are still rehabbing long-term injuries, and striker Youssef Chermiti had foot surgery earlier this week. Dele Alli, who is training with Everton despite his contract expiring last season, has yet to be included in a match-day squad.
The Toffees aim for a strong performance in this final pre-season match before their 2024-25 Premier League opener against Brighton next week. This season will be Everton’s last at Goodison Park before moving to their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
