Everton has announced that two-time Olympic champion Jason Kidd has joined the club’s ownership team.

Kidd, who currently serves as head coach of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, has joined Roundhouse Capital Holdings, which is part of The Friedkin Group (TFG)—the entity that took control of Everton in December.

Kidd’s impressive sporting résumé includes Olympic gold medals with the U.S. national basketball team in 2000 and 2008, and an NBA Championship win with the Mavericks in 2011.

His coaching career features roles with the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, and now the Mavericks.

Marc Watts, Everton’s executive chairman, said Kidd’s appointment allows TFG to draw from his deep understanding of elite performance environments.

Kidd’s arrival follows the appointment of Christopher Sarofim to the Roundhouse board.

Though Sarofim won’t have voting rights, he brings valuable expertise from his role as chairman of Fayez Sarofim & Co.

and will offer guidance on investment, fund management, and philanthropy.
