West Ham United are considering a firm move for a “dangerous” England international who has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs.

The Hammers have endured a dreadful beginning to the season, losing four of their opening five league fixtures.
Their most recent setback came in a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at the London Stadium, leaving them languishing in 18th place.
Manager Graham Potter is under intense scrutiny, with his points-per-game record now the worst of any boss in West Ham’s history.
While much of the criticism has been aimed at the manager, the players themselves cannot escape blame for the team’s struggles.
Many supporters and pundits believe the squad lacks quality and urgently needs fresh additions in January if the club is to safeguard its Premier League future.
According to Caught Offside, the club are now in the running for a new central midfielder, with AC Milan’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek identified as a major target.
The report suggests West Ham are weighing up a formal approach for the Englishman, though they face competition from Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
Loftus-Cheek’s situation at Milan remains uncertain. His current deal runs until June 2027, but the Italian giants are expected to review his contract in early 2026 and could be tempted to cash in amid strong Premier League interest.
Previous reports have suggested that a bid in the region of £17 million could be enough to seal his return to England.
Loftus-Cheek a smart option at affordable price
For £17m, Loftus-Cheek could represent a shrewd acquisition for West Ham. The midfielder, capped ten times by England, has already shown his ability to perform in the Premier League, where he amassed 157 appearances across spells with Chelsea, Crystal Palace, and Fulham, contributing 31 goals and assists combined.
His form in Serie A has only enhanced his reputation, with many considering him one of Milan’s most effective midfielders when fit.
Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has previously hailed Loftus-Cheek, saying:
“He’s a great player and if he can find continuity, also protecting himself from injuries, he will be a true top player.
One of those who allow you to make a huge leap in quality: he breaks the balance, he gets past his man, physically very strong.
He’s always dangerous, effective on the counter-attack, decisive in his movement. In the area, he makes his physicality count.”
Now 29 and recently recalled to the England set-up, Loftus-Cheek still has plenty to offer. For a struggling West Ham side in need of immediate quality, securing his signature this January could prove pivotal in turning their season around.
