Exclusive: Leeds Target Crystal Palace Star Following £12m Bid Twist

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Leeds are among the clubs tracking Jesurun Rak-Sakyi’s situation, but they face extensive competition for his signature.

Southampton reportedly had a £7 million bid rejected and are considering an improved offer of £12 million—a fee Leeds is not willing to match.

Daniel Farke’s side prefers a loan move for the winger but must contend with interest from Charlton Athletic, Sheffield United, Watford, Luton, and QPR.

Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are not keen to let the 21-year-old leave permanently and are more likely to entertain loan offers.

Leeds United join race to sign Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from Crystal Palace

Rak-Sakyi, a product of Crystal Palace’s youth academy, has made ten first-team appearances for the Eagles. A loan spell with Charlton in the 2022-23 season saw him score 15 goals and provide nine assists in 49 games during his first full season in senior football.

These performances attracted interest from several Championship sides last summer, but then-Palace boss Roy Hodgson opted to keep him at the club for additional depth out wide.

After a turbulent season marred by injuries, Oliver Glasner is keen to allow Rak-Sakyi a season in the second tier to continue his development.

Multiple top Championship clubs are racing to secure his signature, with Leeds joining the pursuit amid the potential departures of Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto.

Both wingers have been linked with moves to the Premier League this summer after Farke’s side failed to gain promotion last season.
