Tottenham Hotspur Should Dismiss Ange Postecoglou and Appoint Thomas Frank as His Replacement
Former Tottenham CEO Claude Littner has voiced strong criticism of Ange Postecoglou, believing the manager is at the root of the club’s ongoing struggles.
Tottenham’s recent 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle, despite an early lead from Dominic Solanke, highlighted their continuing issues.
First-half goals from Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak condemned Spurs to their fifth loss in seven Premier League matches, leaving them 12th in the table and 12 points off the Champions League spots.
While some fans and pundits are still giving Postecoglou the benefit of the doubt due to a series of injuries, illnesses, and suspensions affecting the squad, Littner is not among them.
The American-born British businessman, who previously served as Tottenham’s CEO under Alan Sugar, believes it’s time for a managerial change.
“I know fans will not agree, but the primary responsibility lies with the manager and his management,” Littner wrote on X.
“No idea how to defend corners, no tactical awareness. Ange stands still, just shaking his head instead of inspiring, engaging, and motivating.”
When asked if Brentford’s manager Thomas Frank would be a good replacement for Postecoglou, Littner expressed his support for the Danish coach.
“Yes, he has done wonders and seems very sensible, personable, and ambitious,” Littner responded.
Brentford’s 5-0 thrashing of Southampton on Saturday saw them move ahead of Spurs into 11th place.
Frank has transformed Brentford into a consistent Premier League team, with the Bees now in their fourth consecutive top-flight season, having finished 13th, 9th, and 16th in previous campaigns.
