“It has been a negative situation for everyone that a manager had to be sacked,” said the 24-year-old.

“That is, of course, disappointing, and as a club, we’re saddened to find ourselves in that position.

As a group of players, we quickly came together to discuss what we could improve to prevent something like this from happening again, as it shouldn’t occur at our club.

“The team hasn’t fallen apart, but we haven’t progressed enough.

We haven’t consistently improved or left matches with lessons that made us better prepared for the next.

As a team, we’ve struggled to build momentum, and over the past few months, it’s felt stagnant. That’s never good for a football team when development is key.”
