Exclusive: Tottenham Star Could Depart for Just £5M Amid ‘Agent’s Influence’

Tottenham Hotspur spent £60 million to sign Richarlison from Everton in the summer of 2022.

However, the Brazilian forward has struggled to justify his price tag, spending significant time on the sidelines due to recurring injuries.

Even when fit, his goal-scoring record has been underwhelming, leading to speculation that his time at Spurs is coming to an end.

Despite this, hopes of recouping a significant portion of the £60 million investment seem slim.

According to The Mirror (March 2), Tottenham will decline their option to sign Timo Werner permanently from RB Leipzig for £8.5 million.

The report also states that Richarlison’s future at the club will be reassessed at the end of the season.

Former Spurs scout Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, believes the club will struggle to sell Richarlison for more than £5-10 million.

“I’d be quite pleased to see him moved on and new players brought in,” King said. “Any money they get for Richarlison would be welcome.

They paid a lot for him, and they’re going to lose money—no doubt about it.

“I can’t see Tottenham getting much more than £5-10 million. Who is going to pay big money for him? They should’ve cut their losses earlier.

For all the clubs supposedly interested in the summer, none stepped forward to sign him. That suggests his agent was behind those rumors.”

Spurs Must Accept Their Loss and Move On

Tottenham have become accustomed to losing high-value players for minimal returns.

Tanguy Ndombele, once the club’s record signing, was eventually released, while Giovani Lo Celso was sold for a fraction of his initial cost.

Letting another big-money signing leave for almost nothing will be a bitter pill to swallow.

However, keeping Richarlison on the wage bill for another year would be an even greater financial setback.

With no real future at the club and little chance of a contract extension, it is in Spurs’ best interest to cut their losses and move on.
