Fabrizio Romano: West Ham Finalize Paperwork to Sign Manchester United's Aaron Wan-Bissaka
The Italian transfer specialist reported on his personal X account [12 August] that the 26-year-old defender will complete his medical on Monday 12 August after facing a delay on Sunday 11 August [Dharmesh Sheth].
Wan-Bissaka had yet to finalize his exit terms at Old Trafford, with a year remaining on his current contract, but those issues appear to have been resolved ahead of the transfer.
It is understood that the full-back has now had his medical approved at the London Stadium, with the Hammers set to pay £15 million for the Man United player.
West Ham United Set to Seal Aaron Wan-Bissaka Transfer
Julen Lopetegui looks to have secured another transfer after signing Jean-Clair Todibo, Guido Rodriguez, Niclas Fullkrug, and Crysencio Summerville since the beginning of August.
Adding those to Wes Foderingham, Max Kilman, and Luis Guilherme, the Spaniard has quietly completed an overhaul of the squad at the London Stadium, preparing for the new Premier League season.
The defense has been one of the biggest concerns heading into the summer, and those worries seem to have been addressed with two star center-backs and, soon, a new right-back.
Kurt Zouma could also be on his way out of the club, leaving Nayef Aguerd and Konstantinos Mavropanos as the remaining center-backs from last season, though his exit has now stalled [Florian Plettenberg].
Wan-Bissaka will add plenty of reinforcement to both full-back positions, with the ability to deputize on either flank and hopefully push Vladimir Coufal and Emerson to be even better.
Given that Man United once signed him from Crystal Palace for £50 million [BBC Sport], fans will be excited to see the 26-year-old arrive at the London Stadium before the 2024/25 campaign kicks off.
