West Ham’s 30-year-old defender has been a consistent presence, starting all three Premier League games this season, and seems to be a vital part of Julen Lopetegui’s squad.

Emerson, who joined West Ham from Chelsea in 2022, still has two years left on his contract at the London Stadium.
The Italy international has made 85 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
He was also part of the team that triumphed in the UEFA Conference League under David Moyes in 2023.
Recently, Emerson was linked with a potential move to Galatasaray, with the Turkish transfer window closing soon.
However, Fabrizio Romano provided an update, stating on X.com:
“Despite links with Turkish clubs, Emerson Palmieri has no interest in leaving West Ham. He’s staying at #WHUFC, very happy there.”
This news will be a relief for West Ham supporters, as his departure would have left the team with only Aaron Cresswell as the sole natural left-back option.
Despite some criticism for his performance against Manchester City, Emerson has largely been a reliable player for West Ham since his arrival.
West Ham spent heavily during the summer, bringing in players like Max Kilman, Jean-Clair Todibo, Crysencio Summerville, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, aiming to build a squad capable of securing European qualification after missing out last season by finishing ninth.
After the international break, West Ham will resume action on Saturday with an away match against Fulham, hoping to return to winning form.
