Daniel Farke does not expect the transfer speculation surrounding Crysencio Summerville to die down anytime soon, according to Graham Smyth, Chief Football Writer for YEP.
On the domestic front, Fulham, West Ham, and Liverpool are closely monitoring the 22-year-old Dutchman, with additional interest coming from abroad.
While no official bids have been made, representatives from Liverpool and West Ham have already initiated contact with Summerville.
Leeds cannot afford to lose their star player this late in the summer. With the season starting in less than two weeks, finding a suitable replacement would be extremely challenging.
Journalists have suggested that Leeds have contingency plans involving two potential players should Summerville or Gnonto depart.
Similar to Blackburn’s approach with Sammie Szmodics, Leeds should set a deadline for any potential departures of their key players.
The closer it gets to the deadline, the harder it will be to replace them, and the asking price is likely to increase.
Leeds Fans Report Issues with New Shirts
There have been numerous complaints from Leeds fans on social media about the quality of the new team shirts. Many supporters have reported that the fabric is too thin, see-through, and easily snagged.
Some have experienced rips after everyday use and bubbling after the first wash.
According to the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if an item is faulty or not fit for purpose, consumers have the right to return the goods and request a refund, repair, or replacement within 30 days of receiving the product. Fans who spend £65 on a shirt expect it to last at least a season.
The fact that issues are arising after only one or two wears is unacceptable. While not all fans have experienced these problems, with 75% of those polled reporting no issues, the shirts have only been available for a few days, and this percentage could decrease as more fans wear and wash their shirts
Farke Eyeing Former Club for Star Player
Leeds are reportedly preparing a bid for Norwich City’s £15 million-rated sensation Gabriel Sara. The Brazilian midfielder had an impressive season in the Championship last year, contributing to 25 goals (13 goals and 12 assists) in 46 appearances.
Leeds see Sara as a potential replacement for Archie Gray. However, they face competition from Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Galatasaray, and Italian club Atalanta.
Sara, who primarily plays as a central midfielder and prefers his left foot, has been a key player for Norwich City, significantly contributing to their attack.
While Sara would be an excellent addition to the squad, it seems likely that his signing would be a measure to mitigate the loss of Summerville.
Summerville’s departure would be a severe blow to Leeds’ hopes for automatic promotion.
However, with Sara, Leeds would have one of the strongest central midfielders outside the Premier League and could still have ample funds to secure a deal for Liam Millar for £2.5 million due to the length of his contract.
