Five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams has reaffirmed his commitment to Alabama, making the announcement on Wednesday. Williams initially committed to the Crimson Tide in October 2022 but reopened his commitment on January 10 this year after Nick Saban’s retirement. Over the past two weeks, Williams visited Texas A&M and Auburn before ultimately choosing to play for new Tide coach Kalen DeBoer.
Describing his impression of DeBoer, Williams stated, “What you see is exactly what you get with [DeBoer]. He was just telling me how I could fit into the offense and how easy it would be to carry over what I do now to the next level.”
Ranked as the No. 3 player in his position and the No. 8 overall player in the 2024 recruiting cycle by 247Sports, Williams originally belonged to the 2025 class but accelerated his graduation in December 2023. He is anticipated to join the team this summer.
Gabe Brooks, national scouting analyst for 247Sports, described Williams as an “electric playmaker with excellent top-end speed and make-you-miss elusiveness.” Brooks highlighted Williams’ versatility as a dynamic receiver outside or in the slot, providing an immediate option for the return game at the next level.
During his three-year high school football career, Williams accumulated impressive stats, including 187 catches, 3,254 receiving yards, 47 receiving touchdowns, 94 rushing attempts, 1,078 rushing yards, and 24 rushing touchdowns.
