“Isn’t this what we want?” Moyes said. “We want players creating competition; we need options from the bench that can impact the game.”

He added, “I think a point was the least we deserved. The supporters are starting to believe in this team again.”

Moyes also singled out Alcaraz’s energy and influence, stating, “I thought Charly played really well tonight, but he ran out of steam towards the end.

If we had another midfielder available, we probably would have substituted him.”

The 61-year-old manager has been full of praise for Alcaraz since his arrival on loan from Flamengo earlier this year.

However, whether his performance against Brentford is enough to secure a starting role remains to be seen.

Alcaraz Making a Strong Impression at Everton

Doucouré may now have reason to worry about his starting spot, given Alcaraz’s growing influence in midfield.

The Argentine is proving himself whenever called upon, stepping up in Doucouré’s absence.
