Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to dive into the summer transfer window following the official appointment of Thomas Frank as the club’s new head coach, replacing Ange Postecoglou.
Spurs confirmed Frank’s arrival after weeks of speculation linking the Brentford boss with the role.
Chairman Daniel Levy made the difficult call to part ways with Postecoglou despite the Australian delivering Tottenham’s first major trophy in 17 years.
However, a disappointing Premier League campaign that included 22 defeats ultimately cost him his job.
Frank becomes the fifth permanent manager at Spurs since 2019. The club activated his £10 million release clause and secured terms with his preferred backroom team, confirming the move on Thursday evening.

“During his time at Brentford, he transformed the club from a Championship side into an established Premier League team, regularly exceeding expectations.”
The statement also praised Frank as “one of the most progressive and innovative head coaches in the game,” highlighting his strong background in player development and squad building.
The club expressed confidence in his ability to guide Tottenham into the next chapter.
Frank’s reputation for overachieving with limited resources, alongside his work within a data-led recruitment model, makes him an intriguing fit for Spurs.
However, he faces a step up in pressure and expectations, especially with Tottenham set to return to Champions League football next season. He has never managed at this level before, nor has he lifted silverware.
To ensure his success, Levy must support Frank in the transfer market this summer. Reports already suggest Tottenham are trying to hijack Manchester United’s interest in Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo. That’s not the only name on Frank’s radar.
According to GiveMeSport, Frank has recommended Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze as a potential target.
More recently, he has also set his sights on Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White.
Journalist Sebastien Vidal reports that Frank is actively “pushing” for Tottenham to make a statement signing by pursuing Gibbs-White. The England international would be a marquee addition, though not a cheap one.
While one report has suggested a £51 million move is possible, Forest are expected to demand far more.
With two years left on his contract, some sources claim the asking price could reach £100 million.
Gibbs-White was a standout performer last season, contributing seven goals and 10 assists across all competitions and playing a pivotal role in Forest’s unexpected challenge for a Champions League spot.
If Spurs want to land him, they will need to be ready to make a significant financial commitment.
