The manager has two realistic alternatives: Dominic Solanke and Mathys Tel.
Solanke, who joined from Bournemouth last summer for a club-record £65 million, enjoyed a strong debut season with 16 goals in all competitions.
However, an ankle injury has limited him to only 31 minutes of Premier League football so far this term.
If fit, the English striker could provide a more reliable and physical option at the front, offering hold-up play and finishing ability that Richarlison has recently lacked.
Another option is French forward Mathys Tel, a 20-year-old talent Spurs signed permanently for £30 million after a promising loan spell last season.
Although he managed just three goals in 20 appearances under Ange Postecoglou, the club hierarchy clearly believe in his long-term potential.
Tel has been used sparingly this season, starting only once in the league, but his technical ability and flair have drawn comparisons to Thierry Henry.
Former Spurs striker Jermain Defoe has praised Tel’s “unbelievable ability” to glide past defenders — something reflected in his 67% dribble success rate and consistent work rate, winning nearly seven duels per 90 minutes.
Frank faces a difficult decision, but dropping Richarlison could refresh Spurs’ attack while giving Tel or Solanke the chance to impress.
The move might also help reignite Richarlison’s motivation, ultimately creating healthy competition and improving the Lilywhites’ attacking depth as Frank continues shaping his ideal starting eleven.
