Everton are determined to secure the long-term future of one of their most valuable players, with fresh reports indicating the club’s desire to keep him “until the end of his career.”
Grealish thriving in new surroundings
The Toffees have enjoyed a positive beginning to their Premier League campaign, recording two wins in their opening three fixtures, including a memorable victory in the first competitive match at their newly built Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Jack Grealish, who joined Everton on loan from Manchester City during the summer, has wasted no time making his mark.
The England international has already registered four assists in just three appearances, instantly becoming a creative spark in Sean Dyche’s team.
Speaking recently, Grealish expressed his delight at the move and explained why Everton already feels like home.
“When I first spoke with the manager, I instantly knew I wanted to come here. He was probably the main reason for my decision.
He told me he wants me in the final third, to be creative, to have no fear, and to show the same qualities I’ve displayed before.
Of course, you’ll sometimes lose the ball or miss chances, but the key is to attempt that killer pass and deliver end product.
That’s what I want to bring to the club. After that initial conversation, I told my agent I didn’t want to go anywhere else—if possible, I wanted to play for Everton.”
Grealish’s spell could turn into a permanent deal if he continues to perform at this level. However, while his future is being discussed, Everton are also working on securing another cornerstone of their squad.
Pickford set for long-term stay
According to journalist Dominic King, both Everton and owners The Friedkin Group are eager for Jordan Pickford to remain with the club until he eventually hangs up his gloves. Negotiations over a contract extension are already underway.
The England No.1, who earns £6.5 million annually, has firmly established himself as Everton’s most reliable goalkeeper since the legendary Neville Southall.
At 31 years old, Pickford has already made 322 appearances for the Toffees and still has many years left at the top level.
His professionalism and preparation have earned him widespread admiration, including from former teammate Conor Coady.
Coady once said: “He gets a lot of criticism, but he’s fantastic. I love how meticulous he is in his process—he does his homework, writes notes on his bottle, and sticks to it.
That’s why he comes up with big penalty saves. It takes research and commitment to be a top goalkeeper, and Jordan does it brilliantly.”
With his current deal running until 2027, Everton are keen to avoid any uncertainty by tying Pickford down well in advance.
Securing his future now would underline their ambition and guarantee stability in one of the most crucial positions for years to come.
