His explosive pace and tenacity have made him one of Europe’s most exciting young attackers, ranking among the top 5% of wingers for carries into the penalty area and the top 1% for tackles won per 90 minutes.

Minteh’s rise has come at Newcastle’s expense; he’s scored twice against them already, earning the tongue-in-cheek label of “public enemy number one” among Toon fans.

Though Newcastle recently spent £55 million on Anthony Elanga to strengthen the right flank, Minteh’s higher ceiling and rapid improvement could make him a prime target for a future return.

Re-signing either Anderson or Minteh would be costly, but as both players continue to thrive elsewhere, Howe and Newcastle’s hierarchy may rue letting such elite talents slip away.
