Premier League boss backed as potential successor to Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.

Despite Tottenham’s recent struggles, 59-year-old Australian manager Ange Postecoglou remains in charge, even after Spurs were eliminated from both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup within four days.

Their dismal Premier League form—just 14th in the table with only eight wins from 24 matches—would have led many clubs to dismiss their manager.

However, Tottenham’s hierarchy has opted to stand by Postecoglou, who had essentially promised to deliver a trophy this season before their cup exits.

While the club still holds ambitions of winning the Europa League, such an outcome seems unlikely given their current form and ongoing injury crisis.

Should Spurs decide to part ways with Postecoglou, former Premier League striker Louis Saha believes they may attempt to lure Marco Silva from Fulham.

However, he hopes the Portuguese coach remains at Craven Cottage.

Silva, 47, has had a successful five-year tenure at Fulham, guiding them back to the Premier League and securing a top-half finish.

Saha, who played for both Fulham and Tottenham, believes Silva is capable of building something special at Fulham but acknowledges he could be tempted by an offer from Spurs.

“Marco Silva has been brilliant for Fulham, and he’s one of those managers who has improved in the Premier League,” Saha told Paddy Power.

“He wasn’t getting results like this at his previous clubs, but he has stuck to his philosophy, recruited well, and made Fulham a better team. That’s a huge achievement.”

Saha understands why Tottenham might appeal to Silva if a managerial change occurs but hopes he stays at Fulham.

“I can see why he’d be drawn to a bigger club like Spurs if they decide to replace their manager,” he added.

“But I want the best for Marco because he’s done a fantastic job. I don’t want him to leave because I enjoy watching Fulham play the way they do.

He can take them into European competitions and a bigger stage—he can build something special.”

Saha praised the atmosphere at Fulham and believes they can continue improving by bringing in world-class players to strengthen the squad further.

After consecutive cup defeats to Liverpool and Aston Villa, Tottenham will be desperate to return to winning ways when they host Manchester United on Sunday.

Postecoglou acknowledged the importance of the upcoming period, saying after Spurs’ FA Cup exit, “We have a couple of weeks now where we don’t have midweek games.”
