Martin Allen urges West Ham to pursue Mario Lemina from Wolves this January.
The Gabon international, Mario Lemina, is remembered by West Ham fans for his on-field altercation at the London Stadium following a 2-1 victory in early December.
The 31-year-old clashed with West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen at full time, leaving a lasting impression.
Now that the winter transfer window is in full swing, former West Ham midfielder Allen has urged the club to bring Lemina to the London Stadium.
Speaking to West Ham Zone, Allen said: “Not too long ago, Lemina had a dust-up on the pitch with Bowen.
I like his arrogance, attitude, and aggression.
He’s mobile, and I’d sign him to play in front of the back four. It would make the team much stronger.”
The suggestion to sign Lemina comes with the view that the midfielder could add much-needed aggression and technical ability to West Ham’s midfield.
The former Southampton player could offer competition to Tomas Soucek and Carlos Soler, enhancing squad depth and strengthening the team overall.
While the cost of acquiring Lemina remains uncertain, his age and recent playing time suggest a move could be feasible.
For West Ham, securing his services would provide manager Graham Potter with additional options in the middle of the park, potentially boosting the team’s performance in the Premier League.
