But we have to disagree with him on this. Rashford may be showing flashes of the form he once had at Manchester United, but there’s still a cloud over his consistency.

At 27, Rashford has rediscovered some of his spark at Villa, and his versatility is undeniably valuable.

However, the inconsistency over recent seasons lingers in memory. While the potential is there, it’s hard to overlook the drop in form he’s endured.

Villa’s loan move made sense. They’ve reaped some benefits from it, and if they decide against activating the £40 million buy clause, that could be telling.

It would raise questions about whether investing in Rashford is worth the risk.

In that case, Newcastle should think twice before making a move—especially considering they’re already strong on the left wing.
