Mohamed Diomande’s performances this season have fallen drastically short of expectations.
After a strong campaign last year, the midfielder has endured a torrid start, missing the Dundee United clash through injury and contributing little when fit.
His discipline and decision-making have been costly — he was sent off in the Europa League against Genk and conceded a penalty in the defeat to Hearts at Ibrox.
Statistically, Diomande has struggled badly, winning just 16.7 percent of his aerial duels and completing only 22.2 percent of his long passes in the Scottish Premiership.
At 23, he remains a player with potential resale value, making him a prime candidate for Rohl to offload in pursuit of funds for reinforcements.
Joe Rothwell’s time yet to take off
Summer signing Joe Rothwell arrived from Bournemouth with promise but has failed to adapt to the Scottish game.
The 30-year-old has been largely anonymous in midfield, unable to influence matches or provide the creative spark Rangers hoped for.
Although he impressed during his loan spell at Leeds United last season, Rothwell appears to have underestimated the demands of the Premiership.
Given the competition for his signature in the summer, Rangers should be able to find suitors willing to take him, bringing an early end to a disappointing spell.
