Breaking news: West Ham risks losing out on a payment for Declan Rice due to alleged alterations in the terms of their deal with Arsenal.

West Ham might have negated the chance of receiving a potential bonus payment from Arsenal regarding midfielder Declan Rice.

Rice departed his childhood club West Ham to sign with Arsenal in a £105m transfer during the summer transfer window, making him the most expensive English player ever.

The midfielder has had a standout season with the Gunners and remains in contention for significant trophies.

Mikel Arteta’s team currently leads the Premier League table by one point ahead of Manchester City, although the defending champions have one game in hand.

If Arsenal were to clinch the title this season, West Ham might regret a possible missed chance.

In discussions regarding Rice’s transfer last summer, West Ham allegedly turned down several additional incentives suggested by Arsenal, which could have elevated the total fee above £105m.
