While domestic success remains out of reach this season, Rangers fans are daring to dream in the Europa League under his leadership.

Ferguson’s Stance on Rabbi Matondo’s Future

Rabbi Matondo, currently on loan at Hannover 96, is looking to revive his career after a challenging spell at Rangers.

The 24-year-old winger has struggled to establish himself in Scotland, but his time in Germany has given him a fresh opportunity to showcase his abilities.

Hannover reportedly has a £1 million purchase option in Matondo’s loan deal, but any potential permanent move will depend on whether the club secures promotion to the Bundesliga.

Matondo recently received praise for scoring his first international goal for Wales in a World Cup Qualifier against Kazakhstan, further boosting his confidence.

However, despite his progress, Ferguson has previously indicated that a permanent move away from Ibrox is the best outcome for all parties.

Speaking after Matondo’s loan move to Hannover, Ferguson expressed his hope that Rangers could recoup some of the transfer fee they initially paid for the winger.

“I think it was best for both parties. [Matondo] wasn’t really involved.

His career has been disrupted by injuries,” Ferguson said in February.

“I believe he was a high-earner as well. He’ll go over there on loan until the end of the season, and if he impresses, Rangers can try to claw back some of the transfer fee they paid.

If he does well, they can hopefully cash in on him.”

Uncertain Futures for 10 Rangers Loanees

Matondo is just one of several Rangers players currently out on loan, with their futures at Ibrox uncertain.

At Birmingham City, Kieran Dowell has impressed since his January move, while Ben Davies has been a key figure in the club’s push for promotion from League One.

Greek side Aris are hoping to negotiate a permanent deal for Jose Cifuentes, who has been on loan there this season.

However, they are looking to lower the £4.2 million purchase option in his contract.

Rangers also have several young players gaining experience in the Scottish lower leagues.

Kieran Wright (Airdrieonians), Robbie Fraser (Livingston), Adam Devine (Queen’s Park), Leon King (Queen’s Park), Cole McKinnon (Ayr United), and Archie Stephens (Dunfermline) are all spending the season away from Ibrox.

Meanwhile, Johnly Yfeko has been performing well at Exeter City, where the club holds an option to buy the former Leicester City youth prospect.
