“‘It’s a Tough Trip…’ – Sky Sports Host Predicts Cardiff vs Leeds Outcome”

David Prutton Backs Leeds United to Bounce Back with a Win Against Cardiff City This Weekend

Leeds United were narrowly defeated 1-0 by Burnley at home last weekend and are eager to bounce back when they face winless Cardiff City at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday (21 September).

Former Leeds midfielder and current Sky Sports host, David Prutton, is backing Daniel Farke’s side to do just that, predicting a 2-0 win for the visitors.

“Cardiff are really struggling, sitting at the bottom of the table with just one point,” Prutton remarked on Sky Sports’ ‘Essential EFL’ podcast (19 September). “Leeds’ poor defending gave Koleosho a free run against Burnley, but I expect they’ll fix that.

I’m predicting a road win for them, it’s a long trip, but I think Leeds will return with all three points. Cardiff nil, Leeds two.”

Leeds United must respond strongly against Cardiff City.

The high expectations surrounding the club this season became evident after their first Championship loss sparked some discontent among fans about Farke.

The German manager knows he must deliver success at Leeds, especially after missing a major opportunity to make a statement against a promotion contender last week.

However, there can be no excuses this weekend. Cardiff have had a dismal start to the season, collecting just one point from their first five matches.

If Leeds are serious about challenging for promotion again and going beyond last season’s play-off final disappointment, these games need to be routine victories.

Anything less, and Farke will be under increasing pressure, even at this early stage of the season.
