Jamie Vardy Backed for Newcastle Move as Leicester City Exit Looms

Jamie Vardy is expected to attract interest from numerous Premier League clubs this summer, according to former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster.

With his contract at Leicester City expiring, Vardy has confirmed he will depart the King Power Stadium, becoming a free agent.

Although there have been reports linking Vardy with a move to Wrexham—recently promoted to the Championship and aiming for the Premier League—Foster is convinced the veteran striker will remain in the top flight.

Speaking on his Fozcast podcast, Foster said, “I genuinely think Jamie Vardy could sign for about 15 Premier League teams.

It’s a bit like the Liam Delap situation—he won’t be the main striker or play 32 games, but he’s still incredibly effective.”

Foster believes Vardy still has the pace and instinct to make an impact as a substitute, saying, “He can come on for 30 or 40 minutes and give you everything.

He’ll make runs in behind and score goals. Plus, he’s a great character to have around.”

He added, “Imagine Newcastle fans watching Jamie Vardy buzzing around up top. That energy is exactly what they’d love.”

As for Vardy dropping into the Championship or moving abroad, Foster dismissed those possibilities. “The Championship’s not happening.

Wrexham’s not happening. Maybe the U.S., but honestly, there are 15 Premier League clubs who’d love to have Jamie. He’s the perfect fit.”

Foster’s confidence suggests Vardy’s Premier League journey is far from over.
