Everton might consider pursuing Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer transfer window.
According to journalist Alex Crook, Everton is showing keen interest in signing former Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who might be allowed to leave Manchester United this summer.
Writing for talkSPORT on June 25, Crook revealed that the 26-year-old defender is also attracting interest from Turkish club Galatasaray and other teams. Everton manager Sean Dyche is also a fan of Manchester United center-back Victor Lindelof, who could potentially replace Jarrad Branthwaite if he leaves, though Everton is unwilling to sell Branthwaite unless their £70 million valuation is met.
Crook wrote, “I’m told the Toffees are one of a number of clubs interested in right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is also wanted by Galatasaray.”
Wan-Bissaka could be a suitable replacement for Seamus Coleman at Everton. A product of Crystal Palace’s youth academy, Wan-Bissaka made 46 Premier League appearances for the Eagles before moving to Manchester United in the summer of 2019. He is known for his solid defensive capabilities, including his pace, slide tackling, and ability to win one-on-one defensive duels.
Despite making 190 appearances for Manchester United across five seasons, Wan-Bissaka might not fit Erik ten Hag’s preference for an attacking-minded full-back, leading to speculation about his potential departure this summer.
Wan-Bissaka’s defensive prowess makes him a good fit for Dyche’s system, which emphasizes defenders maintaining their positions rather than focusing on attacking. If Wan-Bissaka joins Everton, Dyche could maximize his defensive strengths at Goodison Park.
In addition to potentially targeting Wan-Bissaka, Everton has already signed two players this summer and is working on a deal for Marseille attacking midfielder Iliman Ndiaye. Strengthening their full-back positions is a priority as they seek a long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman, who will turn 36 in a few months.
