The German side are reportedly willing to sell the 26-year-old midfielder for a fee of around £17.25 million.

However, Leeds face competition from Eintracht Frankfurt, who are also plotting a move.

Stach is seen as a player capable of filling the void left by Phillips. Standing at 6’4″, he offers a dominant physical presence and is effective both with and without the ball.

In 30 Bundesliga appearances last season, Stach averaged 3.7 tackles and interceptions per game, without committing a single error leading directly to a goal or penalty.

His defensive numbers closely mirror those of Phillips during his standout 2020/21 campaign.

In addition to his off-the-ball prowess, Stach is composed in possession.

He completed 83% of his passes and contributed two goals along with four big chances created last term.

His ability to win duels, both aerial and on the ground, combined with technical quality, makes him a strong candidate to anchor Farke’s midfield.

With proven experience in a top European league and a well-rounded skillset, Stach could bring the same kind of stability and impact that Phillips once provided for Leeds.
