“Leeds’ JAW-DROPPING Swap Deal Stunner: Mateo Joseph to Smash £38.5M Record in MIND-BLOWING Transfer Twist!”

Leeds United linked with another centre-back following Jaka Bijol signing.

Jaka Bijol has officially joined Leeds United, although the club delayed the announcement of his arrival.

The Slovenian centre-back has signed in a deal worth £18.75 million, making him the second-most-expensive Slovenian player in history.

It was initially believed that Bijol’s arrival would allow Leeds to focus on strengthening other areas of the squad.

However, fresh reports indicate that the club remains in the market for another central defender.

This may be due to Max Wober being allowed to leave and James Debayo still not committing to a new contract.

Leeds are now eyeing Real Betis centre-back Natan as a target, though the Spanish club has informed them that the Brazilian will command a hefty fee.

There is a potential twist in the negotiations, as Leeds may use forward Mateo Joseph to help secure Natan’s signing.

The two clubs have already conducted multiple transfer dealings in recent years. In 2023, Leeds loaned Marc Roca to Betis, and he later made the move permanent.

Diego Llorente also joined the Spanish side on a full-time basis, while Junior Firpo is expected to join Betis on a free transfer.

Betis are still interested in Joseph, but there is a gap in valuation. Leeds are demanding a minimum of £8.5 million, while Betis are only prepared to pay around £6.9 million. Meanwhile, Betis have told Leeds that Natan will cost £38.5 million.

This situation opens up the possibility of a player-plus-cash swap, allowing Leeds to reduce the cost of Natan by including Joseph in the deal. Whether Leeds pursue Natan further following the Bijol signing remains uncertain.

Statistically, Natan and Bijol are quite similar despite playing in different leagues. This comparison could suggest that Bijol was a smart acquisition at a lower price, or that Natan may be overpriced.

With limited funds, Leeds may be wiser to reinforce other positions. But if a deal involving Joseph can lower the cost of Natan, it could be a financially savvy move for the 49ers ownership.
