Bizot poised for Aston Villa move
Farke has been in the market for a new first-choice goalkeeper but has faced setbacks in his search.
He was reportedly interested in Scotland international Angus Gunn, but the Norwich City stopper now looks set for a move to Saudi Arabia. A move for Serbia’s Vanja Milinkovic-Savic has also fallen through.
According to L’Equipe (10 July), Leeds had shifted their focus to Brest’s Marco Bizot.
The Dutch goalkeeper impressed during the French club’s Champions League campaign and was understood to be open to a move to the Premier League, with Leeds among those keen.
However, Foot Mercato (11 July) now reports that Bizot is on the verge of joining Aston Villa, with a deal close to completion—yet another blow to Farke’s transfer plans.
49ers Enterprises continuing to back Leeds
Despite setbacks, the 49ers Enterprises ownership group has largely had a positive impact since taking over at Elland Road.
While criticism over certain decisions is expected, particularly regarding missed transfer opportunities, most supporters would agree that the new owners have made several smart moves in the market.
Their investment has allowed Leeds to make some key signings early in the window, and while not every target will be secured, the club is on the right track.
