The German manager is prioritizing players with top-flight experience, with strengthening the centre-back position high on his agenda.
Among his targets is Udinese defender Jaka Bijol, as the club seeks to add stability and depth to their defensive unit.
Leeds are also eyeing talent from Manchester City, with Juma Bah emerging as a potential addition to bolster the backline before their return to the top tier.
Leeds targeting Man City’s Bah
Juma Bah, regarded as one of the most promising young defenders globally, has attracted interest from several clubs, including Leeds.
According to Africa Foot (13 June), the Whites are keen on a move for the Manchester City player, with Pep Guardiola open to allowing a loan deal.
However, Leeds face competition, with Southampton currently leading the race for the 19-year-old’s signature. German side FC Köln and Ligue 2 outfit Paris FC are also keeping tabs on the situation.
Loaning Bah would strengthen Farke’s options
Should Leeds succeed in securing a loan move for Bah ahead of Southampton, it would represent a smart piece of business. Despite his age, Bah has already shown great promise and could develop further under Farke’s guidance.
He would likely serve as backup to the likes of Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk, and potentially Bijol, but given the physical demands and injury risks in the Premier League, depth is crucial—especially in a season-long fight for survival.
Bah has already accumulated valuable experience, having played 12 times for Real Valladolid in La Liga before joining Manchester City. He then spent time on loan at French club Lens, where he made 10 appearances in Ligue 1.
Standing at 6 ft 5, the young defender would offer a physical presence at the back. The opportunity to play Premier League football could sway him toward Elland Road over the Championship or other lower-profile destinations.
