Leeds United Closing in on Potentially Exciting First Signing of the Summer Window
The summer transfer window officially opens on June 1st, allowing Leeds United to begin making new signings.

Several names are being linked with a move to Elland Road, though at this stage, none of the rumours appear to be close to materialising.
One of the most prominent names emerging is Besiktas striker Semih Kilicsoy, who is once again being touted for a move away from the Turkish club.
Leeds United are reportedly preparing to step up negotiations to sign the 19-year-old forward.
Despite enduring a difficult 2024/25 campaign, Kilicsoy remains highly rated, and Besiktas—now under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer—are said to be considering a loan move to help him regain form.
Initial reports suggested Leeds were ready to submit an £8.5 million bid for the teenager. However, the latest from Turkey indicates that Leeds are now open to securing Kilicsoy on loan, provided there is an option to buy included in the deal.
According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, negotiations between the clubs are expected to gather pace in the coming days.
Kilicsoy had a breakout 2023/24 season, scoring 11 goals in 23 league appearances, but struggled the following year, finding the net only three times in 31 matches.
The situation at Besiktas appears tense. From an outside perspective, Kilicsoy seems to have been treated rather harshly, with the club seemingly giving up on him after a dip in form, yet still cautious enough to avoid a permanent sale by preferring a loan exit.
Turkish football pundit Serdar Saridag recently addressed Kilicsoy’s circumstances, urging the youngster to move on.
Speaking on a podcast, he said: “Semih Kilicsoy should go because the longer he stays in Besiktas, the more they will wear him out.”
Leeds may present a much-needed fresh start for Kilicsoy. However, any potential deal could prove challenging, as Besiktas are reportedly reluctant to include a permanent purchase option—something Leeds would likely insist on for a long-term investment.
