Joel Piroe, despite his previous success, has struggled to make an impact at the highest level.

Yet, since making the jump to the Premier League, his form has dipped significantly.

The £10 million signing has failed to score in 13 league appearances this season. His struggles were highlighted once again in the FA Cup clash, where he missed Leeds’ only penalty in the shootout.

The effort was heavily criticised, notably by Ally McCoist, who described it as a poor attempt during live commentary.

Piroe’s situation mirrors that of Bamford in many ways. Once praised by Farke as one of the best finishers he had worked with, the 26-year-old now appears short of confidence and unable to cope with the increased demands of Premier League football.

Nevertheless, a return to the Championship could offer him a chance to rebuild his reputation.

Given his proven track record at that level, interest from EFL clubs would likely be strong if Leeds decide to part ways with him, particularly if they maintain their top-flight status.

Like Bamford before him, Piroe was once a fan favourite at Elland Road. However, his time in West Yorkshire now seems uncertain.

Following a disappointing cameo in the FA Cup, he is expected to play a reduced role for the remainder of the campaign, with his recent performances underlining just how far his standing within the squad has declined.
