Leeds United-linked attacking midfielder set to see his club acquired by Red Bull – Report
Leeds United linked with Paris FC's Ilan Kebbal as Red Bull, their minority investors, near takeover of the French club
Leeds United currently has a minority investment relationship with Red Bull, with the energy drink company having no direct influence on board decisions at the club.
However, Red Bull’s involvement hints at potential future plans that may align Leeds with their expanding network of clubs around the world.
In addition to their recent stake in Leeds, Red Bull appears close to acquiring a share in another club. Reports from L’Equipe suggest that Red Bull is finalizing a deal to purchase a 15% stake in Paris FC, a team in France’s second tier.
This transaction would see Red Bull joining Christian Dior CEO Antoine Arnault, who is set to become the majority stakeholder with a 55% share, alongside existing owner Pierre Ferracci.
Final discussions are underway, with the deal expected to close soon.
One Leeds target who could soon fall under Red Bull’s scope is Ilan Kebbal.
This summer, French outlet Foot Mercato reported Leeds’ interest in Kebbal, Paris FC’s standout attacking midfielder, after making initial contact with his agent.
Leeds, along with Burnley under manager Scott Parker, had reportedly identified Kebbal as a key target, but the player ultimately chose to remain with Paris FC.
Kebbal has continued his strong form from last season, scoring four goals and registering one assist so far this season.
Last year, he scored eight goals and provided 11 assists, largely playing as a central attacking midfielder but also operating effectively on the right flank.
This versatility could make him a valuable addition to Leeds under head coach Daniel Farke.
Although Leeds is not yet fully integrated into Red Bull’s scouting network, Red Bull’s potential influence over Paris FC could bring Kebbal back onto Leeds’ radar if they are seeking a player with his attributes during the upcoming transfer window.
Given his skill set, Kebbal could strengthen Leeds’ attacking options for the latter half of the season.
However, one obstacle stands in the way: Kebbal recently signed a long-term contract with Paris FC, which runs through to the summer of 2028.
Should Leeds pursue him, they may face a high transfer fee to convince Paris FC’s new, well-funded ownership group to part with him.
