Leeds United near Roland Sallai transfer, with potential discount for eager player.

HITC reports that Roland Sallai is aiming for a last-minute transfer to Leeds United before the window closes.

According to the outlet’s website on 29 August, the Hungarian international hopes to become a Whites player before Daniel Farke’s side faces Hull City this weekend.

His current club is seeking £10 million for his transfer.

Both parties are reportedly close in their valuations of the 27-year-old winger, and there is optimism that a discount might be negotiated due to his contract expiring at the end of the year.

Negotiations are ongoing for a late deal, alongside the expected £4 million signing of Ao Tanaka from Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Leeds United are close to finalizing the signing of Ao Tanaka, and it appears that the club’s crucial transfer business is coming together in the final days of the window at Elland Road.

If Tanaka completes his move and Isaac Schmidt follows, these would be the last two signings that Farke mentioned he “definitely” needed on 29 August [Leeds Live].

Largie Ramazani and Manor Solomon have already strengthened the squad with attacking options, and Farke is unlikely to complain if the 49ers provide additional firepower.

Despite Mateo Joseph’s rise as a striker, Farke might still want another number nine, given Patrick Bamford’s ongoing injury problems and Joel Piroe’s inconsistent form.

However, Sallai could be a valuable addition, especially as an experienced international who impressed while playing a key role for Hungary at Euro 2024.

His desire to join Leeds could make him a more appealing target, and if a discounted deal is possible, the club may find it hard to resist this opportunity.
