Leeds United permit promising defender to depart.

Leeds United has experienced a significant week in the transfer market.

Leeds United recently faced two significant setbacks with the injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev, leaving Daniel Farke’s midfield options severely depleted.

Fortunately for Leeds fans, Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell have stepped up admirably to fill the gaps.

Still, the team needed additional reinforcements and turned to French midfielder Josuha Guilavogui for support.

Guilavogui began his career at Saint-Etienne before moving to Atletico Madrid, but he truly made his mark at VfL Wolfsburg, where he is regarded as a club legend and served as captain.

Last season, he played for Bundesliga club Mainz, and after his contract expired, he became a free agent.

This allowed Leeds to secure his signing, which is a significant boost for the team.

However, as one player arrives, another departs temporarily.

Leeds United has confirmed that young fullback Joe Richards will join South Shields on a short-term loan.

The club announced, “Leeds United academy full-back Joe Richards has joined National League North side South Shields on a short-term loan.

The versatile player, capable of playing on either flank in both defense and attack, has made five appearances in Premier League 2 for Scott Gardner’s Under-21s this season.

In his last match, Richards scored as the Whites secured a strong 3-1 victory over Stockport County Under-21s in the Premier League Cup.

The 19-year-old will head to Mariners Park, where Elliott Dickman’s side currently sits 16th in the Vanarama National League North standings, just three points shy of the playoff spots in a competitive league.

The club wishes Joe the best during his time in Tyneside and looks forward to his continued development while on loan.

This is an exciting opportunity for the young player, and we are confident he will thrive.
