Leicester City ‘Submit £4m Bid’ to Strengthen Attacking Options

Leicester City have reportedly submitted a £4m bid for Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew, who is expected to leave the Eagles this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Palace is considering the offer for the Ghanaian attacker, who has been with the club since the summer of 2018.

Ayew, who turns 33 next month, has played over 200 games for Palace and scored 23 goals.

With only one year remaining on his contract, he may depart Selhurst Park this summer.

Steve Cooper, eager to bolster his squad’s forward options before the transfer window closes at the end of August, will lead the Foxes for the first time on Monday night when they face Tottenham at the King Power Stadium.

Cooper has previously worked with Jordan’s older brother, Andre, at Nottingham Forest and Swansea City.

“We want to add players to the squad, particularly at the top end of the pitch,” Cooper said earlier this month.

“That’s what we’re trying to do. We were so close to getting a few in this week that haven’t quite worked out, so we’ll move on to the next ones.

“We know where we want to strengthen and where we want to improve. If we can enhance a starter in the team, we’ll do that, and we know we need to strengthen competition in some places as well.

“The step into the Premier League is a huge one. For those who have been there before, including myself, we need to remind ourselves what’s coming.

For those experiencing it for the first time, we’re really trying to prepare them for how it feels.

We’ll be working hard on the pitch and off the pitch to bring in players. Hopefully, we’ll continue to improve, progress, and be ready for that first game.”
