“Leeds United Target’s Transfer Saga Concludes as Championship Rivals Secure Young Talent for Substantial Fee”

Young left-back Harrison Burrows has completed a transfer from Peterborough United to one of Leeds United’s Championship rivals, Sheffield United, marking the end of a brief but closely-watched saga involving the Whites.

Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony had earlier mentioned Leeds among the clubs interested in Burrows, revealing that five Championship teams had made bids, with a couple of them being accepted.

However, it has since emerged that Leeds was not among the clubs whose offer was accepted.

Instead, the 22-year-old defender has joined Sheffield United on a four-year contract for a ‘significant, undisclosed fee,’ reportedly around £3 million, with an additional £3 million tied to performance-related incentives.

In announcing the transfer, Sheffield United praised Burrows as “one of the brightest prospects in the EFL.”

Last season, Burrows captained Peterborough to the League One play-offs semi-finals, making 58 appearances across all competitions and contributing 12 goals and 18 assists.

Blades manager Chris Wilder commented on the move: “Just like our previous signing of Kieffer Moore, Harrison’s transfer has required patience and persistence from all involved.
