Revealed: Leicester City still anticipated to face points deduction.

In the latest episode of Football Insider’s “Inside Track” podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke expressed doubts about Leicester City’s chances of avoiding punishment this time, stating, “I don’t think they’ll get away with it this time.”

The newly promoted Premier League club previously avoided a seven-point deduction by exploiting a legal loophole, but they may still face punishment for a separate offence.

If Leicester has recorded financial losses, they could face new charges that might lead to a points deduction.

In the current accounting period, Leicester’s losses are expected to be £83 million due to their stint in the Championship last season, compared to the £105 million loss limit allowed for Premier League clubs.

Leicester City may face further trouble with the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), with a decision expected around December.

Despite earning around £40 million from the transfers of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Enzo Maresca to Chelsea, this may not be enough to keep the club out of trouble.

Football Insider previously reported that Leicester fell “well short” of meeting the spending limit, as they were still considered a Premier League team when their accounts were submitted in June.

Leicester has secured just one point from their first three matches, leaving them 15th in the Premier League standings.

Their next match is against Crystal Palace on 14 September.
