The French midfielder, who joined Leicester in 2021 after winning Ligue 1 with Lille, has struggled to make an impact at the club.
His challenging time at King Power Stadium may soon come to an end, with reports linking him to a return to La Liga.
Steve Cooper, Leicester’s manager, does not seem to include Soumare in his long-term plans, as the 25-year-old has only started one game this season.
Spanish outlet El Sevillista reports that Soumare could rejoin Sevilla on loan in January, with a potential permanent deal in the summer of 2025.
Sevilla previously had Soumare on loan last season and held an option to buy but could not finalize the deal due to financial difficulties.
Despite these setbacks, Sevilla is eager to bring Soumare back, intending to sign him on loan with an option to buy in January.
If the move materializes, Soumare could reunite with former Leicester City teammate Kelechi Iheanacho, who left the Foxes for Sevilla at the end of last season.
However, Iheanacho has struggled to make an impact at his new club, failing to score in his five appearances so far.
Some Sevilla fans have expressed concern over Iheanacho’s limited playing time, prompting the club to urge supporters to remain patient with the Nigerian international.
