Leicester City Finalize Deal as Steve Cooper Streamlines Squad
Harry Souttar Joins Sheffield United on Season-Long Loan After Caleb Okoli's Arrival Pushes Him Down the Pecking Order

Leicester City have confirmed that center-back Harry Souttar will spend the season on loan at Sheffield United.
The Australia international, out of favor last season under Enzo Maresca, has not found his way back into the frame under Steve Cooper.
He now departs to reignite his career, joining the recently-relegated Blades as they bid to return to the Premier League.
Souttar made just four competitive appearances for Leicester last season, with only one Championship start.
He found himself behind Wout Faes, Jannik Vestergaard, Conor Coady, and Ben Nelson in the pecking order. With Caleb Okoli arriving this summer, Souttar has been pushed further to the fringes.
He was not in the squad for the pre-season defeat to Palermo and didn’t travel with the club to their training camp in Germany while he sorted out the details of his exit.
The deal is now completed, just in time for Sheffield United’s Championship opener against Preston this Friday.
Souttar’s transfer to Leicester City has not worked out as planned. Signing for £15m from Stoke in January 2023, the 25-year-old has made only 16 competitive appearances for the club.
When he returns from his loan spell next summer, he will still have three years remaining on his contract at the King Power Stadium.
