Leicester City players returned to Seagrave on Monday to begin pre-season training ahead of the new Championship campaign.

Despite being without a permanent manager, the focus is currently on fitness work, with their first summer friendly against Peterborough scheduled for this Saturday.

Conor Coady, who has been linked with a move to Rangers, was present for the fitness tests. Although a transfer north isn’t ruled out, no deal appears imminent. With just one year left on his contract, Coady remains a potential summer departure.

Goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, who underwent groin surgery two months ago, was also pictured at Seagrave. His return to full fitness means a transfer could soon materialise, with the Dane expected to be sold for profit.

Abdul Fatawu, recovering from an ACL injury sustained last November, participated in fitness drills, raising hopes of his availability for the season’s start.

Whether he features in the Peterborough match could indicate his recovery progress.

However, Harry Souttar, out with an Achilles injury, was not seen and is expected to be unavailable until later in the year.

A total of 23 players were involved in the first session, including a mix of senior squad members and promising youngsters such as Jayden Joseph, Louis Page, and Nathan Opoku, who recently recovered from a double leg break.

Some expected players like Oli Skipp and Patson Daka were not pictured, possibly avoiding cameras.

Meanwhile, 11 international players, including Wilfred Ndidi, Wout Faes, and Jordan Ayew, are yet to return.

The club’s new training kits were also on display, featuring two designs: one navy with yellow and bright blue trim, and another darker variation with white and grey.

In a fan-friendly move, Leicester announced that their pre-season fixtures against Peterborough, OH Leuven, and Fiorentina will be streamed for free.

The same applies to the upcoming European training camp games. This decision contrasts with last year’s £10 charge for the Shrewsbury friendly, which had drawn criticism from supporters.
