Leicester City Key Player Seeks Exit This Week Despite Starting Against Fulham, ‘Not Happy’ – Journalist Reports

Leicester City began the season with an unexpected 1-1 draw against Tottenham, followed by a narrow 2-1 defeat to Fulham over the weekend.

Despite the encouraging result against Spurs, where Leicester was mostly outplayed, Steve Cooper’s side continued to struggle at Craven Cottage.

The scoreline may have been close, but Leicester’s performance left much to be desired.

Cooper, aiming to strengthen his squad, is eager to add to the seven new signings already made this summer.

He is particularly interested in bringing in a center-forward and an attacking midfielder, even though Facundo Buonanotte has made a promising start at the club.

However, some departures could also be on the horizon this week. One key player, vital to Leicester’s hopes of staying competitive, might now be considering an exit.

Wout Faes, who has been integral to Leicester since his arrival in the summer of 2022, could leave before the transfer deadline. The Belgian international played a crucial role in the team’s Championship-winning campaign last season and has started both of Cooper’s competitive matches in charge.

His consistent presence suggests he is a mainstay in the lineup.

Losing Faes at this point in the transfer window would be a significant setback for Leicester.

Reports from journalist Sacha Tavolieri indicate that the center-back is becoming increasingly dissatisfied with his situation at the King Power Stadium.

Tavolieri shared on X: “It could move also for Wout Faes! Not happy with his current situation, Wout Faes had a talk with Leicester leaders.

Player didn’t want to play on the left side of the defense and is surprised with the lack of new recruitments in the team… Faes now looking for a solution on a likely departure before the end of the window…”

Leicester cannot afford to lose Faes before Friday’s transfer deadline and must make every effort to persuade him to stay.

Although the decision about his playing position should be at the manager’s discretion, it’s understandable that Faes would want to see more signings come in to strengthen the team.

The 26-year-old has watched as the club sold one of its best players, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and brought in only one defensive reinforcement, Caleb Okoli, who has not featured in the first two matches of the season.

With Okoli, Jannik Vestergaard, and the injured Conor Coady as the only other senior center-backs, Faes is essential to Leicester’s defense.

Given the limited time left in the transfer window to find a replacement, Leicester’s management must do everything possible to convince Faes to remain at least until January.

His departure would leave a significant gap in the squad, and finding a suitable replacement at this late stage would be a considerable challenge.
