Everton Star Might Be Enticed to Sign New Deal Amid Takeover News – Report

According to a report on 25 September, Everton are prepared to make Jarrad Branthwaite one of the club’s highest-paid players if he agrees to extend his current contract, which runs until 2027.

Manchester United showed interest in the 22-year-old defender but were unwilling to meet Everton’s asking price. Real Madrid is also monitoring his progress (HITC).

With Dan Friedkin’s takeover expected to be completed within six to eight weeks (The Guardian, 24 September), Everton are eager to secure Branthwaite’s future at the club.

Sean Dyche has been without the defender this season due to injury, a factor that may have contributed to Everton’s struggles, as they now sit just one point above the Premier League relegation zone.

Last season, Everton’s defense was among the best in the league, with only Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool conceding fewer goals.

However, this season, they have the joint-worst defensive record alongside Wolves.

While Branthwaite’s absence alone isn’t responsible for this sharp decline, his presence in the backline is certainly missed, and losing him to another club would be a significant blow.

Though Everton may not be able to hold onto Branthwaite indefinitely, securing a contract extension would give the club control over his eventual departure, similar to how they managed transfer negotiations over the summer.

While things seem bleak at Goodison Park with Dyche under pressure, the potential Friedkin takeover offers hope.

This fresh start could be enough to convince Branthwaite to commit his future to Everton.
