West Ham United’s impressive summer transfer window could see an even more notable addition as they have reportedly made significant progress in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler, according to exclusive information from TEAMtalk.
Under the leadership of new manager Julen Lopetegui, West Ham have been assertive in their transfer activities over recent weeks and months, securing a number of high-profile signings.
The Hammers have bolstered their squad in various positions ahead of the new Premier League season.
The east London club has invested heavily in strengthening their squad, including the acquisition of Max Kilman for £40 million.
They have also finalized the loan signing of fellow centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice, with the deal including an obligation to purchase for £34.22 million in 2025.
Wingers Crysencio Summerville and Luis Guilherme have joined from Leeds United and Palmeiras, respectively, for a combined fee of just over £50 million.
Additionally, defensive midfielder Guido Rodriguez was signed on a free transfer after leaving Real Betis.
Right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka was brought in from Manchester United for £15 million, and Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug was secured for £27 million.
Following these successful signings, Lopetegui has emphasized his ambition to mold West Ham into a formidable team.
Lopetegui shared with Sky Sports, “Our goal is to build a complete team. By ‘complete,’ I mean we want to be balanced both offensively and defensively and have various strategies for different situations.
Even with talented players, a team’s success isn’t guaranteed. We aim to be a strong team, and that requires us to leverage all our quality to serve the collective goal.”
He added, “The primary objective is continuous improvement—becoming better each day and setting high standards for ourselves.
This development is crucial to achieving our major goals. Furthermore, we must recognize that challenges provide an opportunity to enhance and build a stronger team.”
Despite these numerous additions, there is a possibility for further reinforcement as the transfer window nears its close.
West Ham are now targeting PSG’s Carlos Soler. TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent Fraser Gillan reports that West Ham have initiated contact with PSG to discuss potential terms for the 27-year-old midfielder.
The French champions are reportedly willing to entertain offers and are open to negotiating a transfer, given that Soler’s contract runs through 2027.
Lopetegui has expressed to the board that Soler would be an ideal addition to his squad, helping West Ham aim for European qualification this season.
There is also a belief that Soler, who has scored eight goals and provided eight assists in 63 appearances for PSG since his transfer from Valencia in 2022, is open to a move and is eager to experience Premier League football.
The transfer could be completed for under £20 million, with sporting director Tim Steidten overseeing the negotiations.
Despite being a regular feature in recent seasons, Soler has started only 32 matches, making the prospect of more playing time elsewhere particularly appealing.
